The main catalyst for starting Groundwork0 was the growing need in the marketplace for better maintenance services. For years while an employee at Nortel Networks, I watched as customers paid good money for maintenance, ( which usually included onsite emergency services and phone support ) only to be disappointed by the support they received when they needed it the most. The primary problem was the technicians lack of specific knowledge of the customers IT environment. With manufactures maintenance, resources are regional and often times the phone support and or onsite tech's have never even heard of your company before. In this scenario even to the most comprehensive technical experience cannot overcome the lack of familiarity with the customers
network. It was common for problems to go unsolved until the local
resources familiar with the account could come onsite to troubleshoot
and render solutions.
This regional business model was efficient for the large manufactures like Nortel and Cisco. With a national phone support system and a team of regional onsite tech's with access to a parts depot, they could cover the whole country (countries) and guarantee 4 hour onsite emergency support. But this is not efficient for the customer. To be effective, phone support personnel and onsite tech's need to have background information about your account. The more experience they have with your environment the better the response will be. But they don't. They know about parts and systems that they are trained to maintain and little or nothing about your LAN/WAN.
With Groundwork0 you get trained experienced technical support that will have extensive knowledge of your specific network. We know your network because we are local and more times than not we have been onsite to consult on the design, development, and installation of your core IT infrastructure. We know the applications your running, how they are configured and what the network is designed to do. Combine that with 24 x 7 technicians with access to a fully stocked parts depot (located in
Detroit) and you have a better business model to provide maintenance.
Its that simple.
